Porter loves his Daddy

The other day, my friend Allyson, Porter and I enjoyed an afternoon in Hanover. We walked around and shopped a little, and as usual...Porter captured the attention of many with the "he's sooo cute"-s.

We ended our adventure with a trip to Morano Gelato (really amazing if you have yet to try it). As we enjoyed our gelato, I got a call from Pat as he was on his way home from work at his new dispatching job in Hanover (yes, he still works at LFD as well). I asked him to come meet us if he could find a parking spot and he agreed. We visited for a few minutes, then Pat left.

Later that afternoon when I got home, Pat had a huge grin on his face: "did you see that at the gelato place"?, he said. "when I walked through the door, Porter and I made eye contact and he gave me a huge smile!" Yay! In a big sea of hungry gelato-seeking people, Porter recognized his daddy...and totally made his day!

Growing Baby

I've been terrible about updating the blog. It turns out that Porter doesn't like to sit still for long. By the end of the day after he's gone to bed, I am one tired momma and the last think I want to do is be on the computer.

People are always saying, "Enjoy them while they're little, they grow up so fast", and I always kind of rolled me eyes, but WOW. They sure do. P will already be four months old on the 11th. We have a check-up on Wednesday...I can't wait to see how much he's grown. At his last check-up, over 6 weeks ago, he was 14.5 lbs, 96th percentile for height, 85th for weight. Big, healthy boy. Sometimes we wake up, and I think he's grown noticibly overnight.

Porter has been such a joy. He keeps us busy, but is such a good baby. In these more recent days, he has been less reliant on me for comfort and enjoys his daddy's company more, which has been a nice break for me. When we wake in the morning, he squeals with delight. He's got the sweetest smile, every day with him is more fun than the last. He loves to talk ane look at you and is especially cuddly. He's also got the most wonderful chubby cheeks and thighs.

The holidays this year were extra special with our new addition. Christmas marked one year since we found out I was pregnant.

And now...what you've all been waiting for...pictures!

November - P loves his mobile and playing in his crib (but has yet to sleep in it).

Porter's first Thanksgiving, we were extra thankful this year.

Porter was a big help decorating for Christmas.

So as usual, I will vow to try to update more frequently, but I can't promise anything...I don't want to miss a moment with my baby boy.

He's Here!

Porter Patrick Ericson, 8 lbs, 0.6 oz, 21 inches. We welcomed our healthy baby boy on September 11, 2011 at 4:15 pm, three days past his due date. He is a total dream and a wonderful addition to our family. It's taken me a while to get on to the computer to update, but better late than never, right? We just had P's one month check up. He is now 23.5 inches and 9 lbs, 11 oz...big boy!

Here are some photos of our first month (I can't believe he's a month old already):

39 Weeks

I can't believe it's finally here - September...the month in which our lives will change forever. We are 39 weeks and 1 day today. I've been a little awful about updating the blog - but Katharine insists that if I do it, baby will come. I am still very comfortable except for an aching back when I get up in the morning. At this point, we are just eager (it's 6am - I can't sleep). I have so enjoyed having him be a part of me, but I am ready to hold and snuggle him and finally see Pat do the same.

Here's what baby looks like this week:

We celebrated our 1-year wedding anniversary this month. We thought about going away, but decided to stay close to home for obvious reasons. We had a great day - a long walk in Woodstock, some shopping and we cooked an amazing meal together at home. It's crazy to think about how different our lives were a year ago. Our summer was action-packed - this summer has been very tame compared to last, though our house has changed...A LOT. (See next post to come).

July and August were great months. Amongst other things, July brought us:

A red sox game:

A lovely day in Salem, MA (34 weeks):

My baby shower:

While August brought us:

A fire right by our house (which P dragged us to - pj's and all):

Our anniversary:

Margaret & Jeff's wonderful wedding:

(photo booths are so much fun)

...and more work on the house, cleaning, work and relaxing. My last day of work was last Friday - so i've been enjoying my time at home...lots of walks and bouncing on my birthing ball.

September promises:

A bigger belly: this photo taken at 39 weeks

...and a baby to cuddle, soon!

The Nursery

Here it is! We are pretty much done - more pics to come once we have a baby to fill it with. My husband did a fantastic job, didn't he?
